CLUBGLOVE is experimental rock, yet they have already, with this one song, set themselves apart from the general lo-fi drone that dominates the blogosphere these days. The mix of sound is clean and beautiful and the hooks are very clear. The song has all of the essentials: a drum machine’s take on the Ronettes, hilarious bro’d out backstory (can i crack a beer?), along with a beautiful, memorable refrain.
Take it from me. DON’T GO HOME TONIGHT without giving CLUBGLOVE a few spins. Or you could keep listening to Merriweather Post Pavilion like it just came out, eyes closed, weeping softly…
